I’ll save you the “what? It’s the second month of the new year already?!” spiel because honestly…January dragged. on. It wasn’t so much that the month was a bad one; I just happened to do a lot in a very short space of time. A quick review:
- I took my final-final exams at university. They were difficult and I wasn’t in the right mindset to study because of some family stuff but I managed to get…wait for it…all As (and, like, one B)! I’m pretty proud of this accomplishment because it really was a feat trying to concentrate in the environment that I was in. But hey, I persevered and I managed to get on the Dean’s Honor Roll! *happy dance*
- I graduated university! Although this is a really good thing, I went through the post-grad blues just like anyone else, and I even wrote about it here.
- I got back into blogging. I had my insecurities for the past few months but now I’m back and better than ever, baby. Now that I have a lot more free time, I’m going to be posting super consistently so I’m really looking forward to that.
Now, February. I really want to use this month to establish some sort of routine, because being at home all the time leads to me not wanting to get out of bed much. I want to make a timetable for myself where I work by the clock and encourage myself to be more active. Which leads me to my goals for the month…
01. Early to bed, early to rise.
I find it really hard to fall asleep at night because of this little thing called Netflix, but I really want to knock this habit out of me. For the past few weeks I’ve been sleeping at 2AM and waking up at 12PM which is BAD because it ruins my to-do list for the day. I want to be able to fall asleep by 11PM and wake up by 8AM, and I want this to be a consistent thing not only for the month, but hopefully the year.
02. Work out everyday.
Finals always mess up my eating schedule and get me addicted to devouring three bags of Doritos right before I sleep. This does not help my ultimate goal of becoming a Victoria’s Secret Angel (kidding, but also would not turn the opportunity down should it ever arise). So I really need to lose those five pounds I put on last semester and I hope to do this by running on the treadmill everyday. One of my resolutions this year is to start playing tennis, and this should be a good first step for getting my body active enough to eventually play.
03. Eat the frog.
When I was in high school, one of my favorite teachers told us about the metaphor of “eating the frog”. It means doing something that you’ve been putting off for ages because it gives you an icky feeling in your tummy. I have a specific goal that I’ve been wanting to accomplish since last September, but I’ve been avoiding it because it’s difficult emotionally and mentally, and it requires a lot of work. This month, I want to tackle it head-on and get it done so I can stop thinking about it. I can’t tell you what it is just yet, but please keep your fingers crossed for me because if this works in my favor, you have some awesome content coming your way.
And that’s it from me! What are your goals this month?
